I wrote the remaining four articles for domain number four and submitted them to ezinearticles and human rewriter. I began researching for the content for domain number five. I also started adding bookmarks to my bookmarking demon queue.
I got an email from someone who’s also selling physical products as an affiliate. They were wondering what to do when the .com, .org, and .net are all taken and whether it’s okay to add dashes to get the .com domain. So, let’s say the keyword is “coffee mug” and coffeemug.com, coffeemug.net, and coffeemug.org are already taken. Would it be okay to buy coffee-mug.com? I felt there may be others who may want to know about this so I’m sharing my answer below.
I tend to avoid adding dashes to my domain name. Instead, I add a word to the end of the domain and only get the .com. So, using the example above I would try to use one of the following as .com domains:
coffeemugshop
coffeemugstore
coffeemugdeals
coffeemugreview
Any of these would be fine. Domain selection is only one part of the money siphon system criteria though. So, as long as the keyword “coffee mug” meets all of the other criteria that Jonny Andrews provides (SOC, OCI, MOB, and Search Volume), it is okay to add a word at the end. You will still be able to rank high in the search engines. The only thing that you’ll have to remember when you add a word is that your goal is to rank for “coffee mug” and not “coffee mug shop,” “coffee mug store,” etc. Just stay focused on the original keyword that you added the word to when you write your content and your articles because that is the keyword that you determined to be your buying keyword. I hope this helps.
